Housekeeping: swimmers OUT 5/29, donations, schedule

    WAVES families,

Two important things detailed below.  Take a look at the swimmers NOT swimming list and attached (or check links section of website) is the team manual.  If you are a new parent, the manual help should answer any questions you have about the team and summer swimming.  Also incuded is a Family Directory should you wish to coordinate carpools to practices and/or meets.  New parent meetings will be held poolside on Tuesday, 5/28 at 9:15 and 10am.  Please try and attend one.

    5/29 Meet:  Swimmers Out

Coaches are working on the line-up over the weekend, PLEASE look over the list of swimmers who are marked out for the 5/29 home meet versus Weschester.  If your swimmer IS NOT SWIMMING this meet, let us know ASAP.  Putting together a line-up (that's who swims what) is like a complex jigsaw puzzle and when one piece goes missing, you have to start from scratch.  Help us avoid that, please.

The 5/6 year old swimmers will get a final assessment on Tuesday  If coaches think they can safely make it across the pool within 2.5 minutes, then they will be scheduled to complete (they don't need to swim straight through).  If not, we'll wait to place them in the next meet.  We will be SURE to let parents & swimmers know by the end of practice.

    REPEAT INFORMATION

DRINK & SNACK DONATIONS: As we do every year, we ask every WAVES family to donate one case of water, Coke or Diet Coke (no other variations, please).  Drinks are sold at our two home meets and water is distributed to meet volunteers (as required by the Cobb County Summer League).  We are also looking for donations for FUN DAY (Thursdays from 10am-11 - its a relaxed no practice event after every meet for swimmers to get ribbons, talk about meet and celebrate) .  To make it easier and avoid too many donations, we've broken it down by LAST NAME.  We need drink donations BEFORE our first meet.

    • Last names A-G: case of water (drop off in swim team office by 5/28)
    • Last names H-M: case Coke or Diet Coke (drop off in swim team office by 5/28)
    • Last names N-Z: Fun Day Snack (make 2 dozen or pay about $5 for mini cinnamon buns, mini muffins, donuts, bagels, etc - the type of things you can get at Sam's Club or Costco. Fun Day volunteers will contact you to give you date to donate)
