First Meet vs. Westchester 5/29 (check in @ 4:30)
Parents,
Our first meet is Wednesday 5/29 HOME vs. Weschester. There will be practice tomorrow morning (Tuesday) and the morning of the meet. It's important your swimmer attends as coaches will be reviewing important meet information. Please have your swimmers rest and stay out of the sun in the afternoon. It will tire them out for sure.
Just a few things:
- Volunteer Duty: We can't run the meet without YOU--our most valued parents and volunteers. Mandy Fischer is putting the finishing touches on the Volunteer Schedule for the meet and we should have it at practice tomorrow. Both Mandy and Pam Riley will help ease you in to your meet job. Don't worry--it's summer rec league and it's all fine. Mistakes will happen and no one is going to olympic time trials, so it's all good. All we ask is that you show up when we asked and do your best. Thanks.
- Team tshirt: If you haven't received tour tshirt from Kami Schroeder yet, they will be available at practice or the meet. Have swimmers wear it to the meet.
- Swimsuits: If your swimmer hasn't received your swimsuit yet, no worries. Just wear a simple, one piece suit. Boys can wear any type of trunks or black jammers. Rash guards are not permitted during sweim meets or suits or caps with name of another team.
- Goggles: if your swimmer doesn't have a pair, please get them
- Hair: If your swimmer doesn't want to wear a cap, please have them use a hairtie to keep hair out of their face
- Meet time: all parents & swimmers arrive @ 4:30pm Warms-ups @ 5:00 pm and meet to begin promptly @ 6pm
- Check in: when you arrive at the meet, PARENTS, please initial your name on the Volunteer Board and use a name tag with your job on it and fill in your name. Swimmers, see a coach for your events and have them help you write them on your arm. Each swimmer will have an index card w/ meets events--swimmers/parents--
please take your card. By taking the card, theat helps us know which swimmers have arrived. - What to bring: Since we are the home team, we will sit under the deck (lane 1 side of pool) in the shade--ya! Bring chairs, Sharpees, money and a winning attitude. We have a great concession stand serving Jets Pizza, Hot Dogs, Chick-Fil_a sandwhiches, Yorgli Mogli, candy, drinks and more! You are welcome to bring your own cooler with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Parking: It will be tough parking in and around the pool. If you live in the neighborhood, please consider leaving your car at home or parking in a nearby neighbor's driveway. Consider carpooling. Worse case scenario, the empty lot up at the old Kroger is always available.
- Fun Day: Thursdays after meet nights is FUN DAY. All swimmers arrive at 10am for a one hour relaxed team swim time. Swimmers will collect their ribbons from the meet, hear from coaches, enjoy some donated breakfast items & have fun. This is for team members only. If your swimmer or Little Wave does not compete in the meet, we will have a mini-race for them during Fun Day and ribbons will be awarded.
If for any reason parents or swimmers are late or are unable to attend let us know ASAP. Remember, your attendance is important to the WHOLE team.
