    FYI: GA Games Swim Meet

    The Cobb County Summer League asked that we forward this information to our team families.  The WAVES will not be part of this, but your swimmer may participate as an individual.  If you have any specific questions, please email: [email protected]

    The Georgia Games Swim Meet, held at the Central Cobb Aquatic Center, is in one week. This is a fun meet and we encourage new and veteran swimmers to attend. This is terrific experience for a ‘big’ meet since Georgia Games will use an electronic in-deck timing system with 10-lane scoreboard and swimmers will use starting blocks for individual and relay starts. All meet participants receive a t-shirt and top 3 finishers in each event receive a medal that looks like an Olympic gold, silver, or bronze medal. This is a quick swim meet and it should last no longer than 3 hours. Your swimmer may register online for up to 4 individual events. Meet organizers plan to put relays together the afternoon of the meet. Following is basic information about the meet:
     

    GA Games Youth Swim Meet

    Date: June 22, 2013

    Site: Central Cobb Aquatic Center

    Time: Registration opens at 1:30 p.m.

    Warm-ups begin at 2:00 p.m.

    Entry Fee: $8 for athlete registration (and pool surcharge); $5.00 per individual event and $5.00 per athlete for relay events*.

    REGISTER ONLINE at www.georgiagames.org, select Georgia Games Sports List, and then select Swim Meet Youth.

    Entry Deadline: Entries must be received by June 16, 2013 before 5:00pm.

    Eligibility: GHSA, GRPA, GISA and all recreational swimmers statewide.

    *The meet organizers said they have disabled the ability for you to sign up for relays when registering online. If you want your swimmer to participate in a relay, they will build relays the day of the meet and you may pay for your swimmer’s relays at the meet.
