Cobb County Swim Meet - Patti Wilder
WAVES Families, can't get enough swimming?
Then consider swimming at the upcoming County Meet (aka Patti Wilder Meet). And please let us know by this Thursday, June 16!
June 25-26th @ Mountain View Aquatic Center (2650 Gordy Parkway, Marietta, GA 30066, across from the Mt. View Library on Sandy Plains Rd.).
June 25th - Age 5 - 10 - prelim/finals except for 5&6's who swim finals only in the morning
June 26th - Age 11 & up - prelim/finals
What is a prelim/finals meet? Your swimmer swims all of their individual events in the morning. If your child has fast enough times that they place in the top 10 in their event, they come back at night to swim in finals. Top 3 fastest swimmers at night are eligible to represent Cobb County at the State swim meet on 7/22-7/23 (held at Cherokee Aquatic Center). The 5&6 year olds do not participate in the State meet.
Swimmers can enter into 2 individual events. If we have enough kids in same age group we can enter a relay.
Cost $5 per individual event
Plus $10 per swimmer to cover coach fees
The county is requiring us to turn in a copy of your swimmers birth certificate when we register the swimmer for this meet. This is used to verify age and also to have on file if your child places in top 3 and will swim at the State meet.
DEADLINE to get your swimmer's entries, birth certificate and payment to Elena Venuti no later than this Thursday June 16th at noon.
If you are not sure what events your swimmer should swim, contact Coach Cassie (404-805-9139) who can research your swimmers times and give you recommendations.
BTW - This meet is for Cobb County residents only. If you are a resident of Cherokee County, there is a separate meet. If you are registered on a Cobb County summer league team (Chatsworth) then you have to petition to swim at the Cherokee meet. If you are in this situation, please let us know.
