We understand emergencies come up, so IF YOU HAVE TO MAKE A LAST MINUTE CHANGE AND DECIDE TO SWIM OR NOT TO SWIM, PLEASE TEXT COACH CASSIE AT 404-805-9139 by Tuesday at noon.
WHAT TO BRING: Swim suit/jammers, team t-shirt, an extra pair of goggles, chairs, umbrellas, sunscreen, extra towels, money for concessions, extra dry clothes, mark all clothes with your name, camera.
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING: The Northampton neighborhood is located at 3200 Talimore Circle, Marietta, GA 30066
This is at the corner of Sandy Plains Road and Shallowford Road behind the Mountain View Aquatic Center (off of Gordy Parkway). The Northampton team has kindly offered us their parking lot.
SWIM MEET ARRIVAL TIME: 5:00 PM
Swimmers: check in with the coaches for your events. There will be a small piece of paper tacked to a bulletin board. Swimmers may take their events from the board. This tells us that they have arrived. Write events on swimmers’ arms with a Sharpie. Coaches will be there to assist. Warm-ups for our team start at 5:30 PM.
Parents: check in with the volunteer coordinators for the evening’s duties. Please initial next to your name to indicate that you have arrived.
SET UP: Northampton pool has 6 lanes. Please note: because of the water slide the lane numbers are reversed. So if you are standing in the shallow end looking at the blocks on the opposite side of the pool, the numbers will read from left to right...6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The blocks and the flags are clearly marked.
PLEASE NOTE: no one except the scorekeepers are allowed in the downstairs area of the clubhouse. There will be signs, but just wanted to make sure you all know this in advance. There is a lot of weight equipment in this area and we do not want anyone to get hurt. Also, in case of thunder, our team must return to the cars, not the clubhouse, for coverage.
Please remind your younger swimmers to stay in the bullpen. Our bullpen parents are not babysitters and cannot chase down swimmers who have left their bullpen. Parents need to supervise younger children at the meets.
MEETING WITH THE REFEREE for Place Judges and Timers 5:45 PM. Location: outside the pool gate, listen for the announcement.
MEET STARTS: 6:00 PM
IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER: Please check your email before heading to the pool. If thunder or lightning occur during the meet, all families will need to clear the deck and either go home or to their cars and watch for further instructions from the coordinator via email and Facebook. We will make a decision and let you know when to return to the pool or if we decide not to continue.
CONCESSIONS: Bring cash and come hungry! The Hammerhead Café will be offering hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, pizza, drinks, candy, chips, Bahama Bucks and miscellaneous items.
POOL RULES: Glass bottles, alcohol, smoking are not permitted.
CODE OF CONDUCT AT SWIM MEETS FOR PARENTS:
- Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the fenced pool area during a meet.
- Unruly, disruptive or unsafe conduct may be cause for removal from the fenced pool area.
- Please be reminded that jumping in at the end of a swim meet is prohibited and will result in a forfeit.
We would like to remind all parents to exhibit good sportsmanship toward coaches, fellow teammates, opposing swimmers and parents, and, most importantly, the referees. The Cobb Summer Swim League’s protocol to handle unsportsmanlike conduct to referees include: possibly removing parent(s) from the pool area, calling police, cancelling the meet resulting in forfeiture. Let's support our kids and let them have some swimming fun!
AFTER PARTY: Join the coaches and your teammates after the meet at Taco Mac Roswell (685 W. Crosville Rd, Roswell)
GO WAVES!!!
