Please make sure to observe the "no parking on this side" signs and also not park on any of their neighborhood's lawns.
SWIM MEET ARRIVAL TIME: 5 – 5:30 PM
SWIMMERS:
Check in with the coaches for your events. There will be a small piece of paper tacked to a bulletin board. Swimmers may take their events from the board. This tells us that they have arrived. Write events on swimmers’ arms with a Sharpie. Coaches will be there to assist. Warm-ups for our team start at 5:30 PM.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS:
Check in with the volunteer coordinator (Ellie Griffis) for the evening’s duties. Please initial next to your name to indicate that you have arrived. Some jobs are still available and will be assigned to parents available at the meet.
1st volunteer shift – events 1-43 – an announcement will be made to remind parents
of the shift switch.
2nd volunteer shift – events 44 – 86
SETUP:
WAVES families will set up per Westchester’s instructions upon arrival. During the meet, kids are NOT allowed on the tennis courts and only allowed on the playground with adult supervision at all times.
Please remind your younger swimmers to stay in the bullpen. Our bullpen parents are not babysitters and cannot chase down swimmers who have left their bullpen. Parents need to supervise younger children at the meets.
MEETING WITH THE REFEREE for Place Judges and Timers 5:45 PM. Location: listen for the announcement.
MEET STARTS: 6:00 PM
PARENT RELAY: Thank you to 4 Dads and 4 Moms who stepped up to swim in the parent relay. Weather permitting, the relay will take place at event 46B (around 7:45-8 PM). Please cheer for our parents!
IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER: We should have a hot afternoon tomorrow. When in doubt, please check your email before heading to the pool. If thunder or lightning occur during the meet, all families will need to clear the deck, but DO NOT GO HOME. Go to your cars and watch for further instructions from the coordinator via email and Facebook. We will make a decision and let you know when to return to the pool or if we decide not to continue.
CONCESSIONS:
Bring cash and come hungry! Westchester Wahoos will have concessions available.
CODE OF CONDUCT AT SWIM MEETS FOR PARENTS:
- 1. Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the fenced pool area during a meet.
- 2. Unruly, disruptive or unsafe conduct may be cause for removal from the fenced pool area.
- 3. Please be reminded that jumping in at the end of a swim meet is prohibited and will result in a forfeit.
We would like to remind all parents to exhibit good sportsmanship toward coaches, fellow teammates, opposing swimmers and parents, and, most importantly, the referees. The Cobb Summer Swim League’s protocol to handle unsportsmanlike conduct to referees include: possibly removing parent(s) from the pool area, calling police, cancelling the meet resulting in forfeiture. Let's support our kids and let them have some swimming fun!
TACO MAC AFTER PARTY: Join your teammates and coaches at Taco Mac at 685 Crossville Road, Roswell (Trader Joe’s Plaza, open until 12 AM).
If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or text Elena at 978-335-5788.
Thank you!
GO WAVES!!!
