WHAT TO BRING:
Team swim suit/jammers (USA,
high school, or any other team cannot be represented on suits and caps are not
allowed. If you cannot purchase a team suit and cap, a plain suit and cap can
be worn. A swimmer will be disqualified for wearing the wrong apparel),
an extra pair of goggles, chairs,
umbrellas, picnic blankets, sunscreen, bug spray, extra towels, money for concessions,
extra dry clothes, mark all clothes with your name.
T-SHIRTS: Wear your team t-shirt.
SWIM CAPS: Wear your team swim cap. If you haven’t ordered one at registration, they are available at $3 each.
SETUP: Directions to set up at the Arbor Bridge pool will be provided upon arrival. Please remind your younger swimmers to stay in the bullpen. Our bullpen parents are not babysitters and cannot chase down swimmers who have left their bullpen. Parents need to supervise younger children at the meets.
IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER: When in doubt, please check your email before heading to the pool. If thunder or lightning occur during the meet, all families will need to clear the deck and go to their cars and watch for further instructions from the coordinator via email. DO NOT LEAVE. The coordinators and the official will make a decision to either CONTINUE, TO RESCHEDULE OR TO COMPLETE THE MEET (if we complete event 46 heat 1 by that point) and let you know when to return to the pool or go home.
PARENT RELAY: Thank you to our Waves parents (Chris Seaman, Lane Hammack, Kendra Bowen and Josh Garber) who stepped up last week to swim in a parent relay! It was so fun to watch and it was by far the loudest event of the meet! We are awaiting on Arbor Bridge parents to let us know if they have a team of parents to swim at the upcoming meet, and will let you know as soon as we hear from their coordinator.
CODE OF CONDUCT AT SWIM MEETS FOR PARENTS:
- Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the fenced pool area during a meet.
- Unruly, disruptive or unsafe conduct may be cause for removal from the fenced pool area.
- Please be reminded that jumping in at the end of a swim meet is prohibited and will result in a forfeit.
We would like to remind all parents to exhibit good sportsmanship toward coaches, fellow teammates, opposing swimmers and parents, and, most importantly, the referees. The Cobb Summer Swim League’s protocol to handle unsportsmanlike conduct to referees include: possibly removing parent(s) from the pool area, calling police, cancelling the meet resulting in forfeiture. Let's support our kids and let them have some swimming fun!
TACO MAC AFTER PARTY: Join your teammates and coaches at Taco Mac at 685 Crossville Road, Roswell (Trader Joe’s Plaza).
If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or text Elena at 978-335-5788
Thank you!
GO WAVES!!!
