Hello WAVES families! 

Our season begins this coming Monday! We practice rain or shine (unless it is a very heavy rain and we cannot see the bottom of the pool). We will stop practice if lightning or thunder occurs. When in doubt, check your email about practice status. 

Important reminders about the afternoon practices: 

FIRST PRACTICE 
First practice on Monday, May 14th is dryland only (no swimming). Meet your coaches, play games and get to know your teammates. We meet outside the Chatsworth pool. 

• Little Waves 4 - 4:30 pm 
• 5/6 yo 4 - 4:30 pm 
• 7/8 yo 4:30 - 5:15 pm 
• 9/10 yo 4:30 - 5:15 pm 
• 11 & up 5:15 - 6:00 pm

WAVES COACHES

Assistant coaches: Meghan Tadeo, Molly English, Sam Quiroz, Diego Quiroz
Junior coaches: Brandon Lamb, Jack Coleman & Joey Miller (in training)

PRACTICES BEGIN in the pool on Tuesday, May 15th. DROP your child OFF at the pool gate 5 minutes prior to the start of their practice with a towel, cap (if needed), goggles and flippers (for 5 yo and up) and pick them up at the pool gate at the end of their practice time. Please apply sunscreen on your swimmer(s) as our coaches are not allowed to do that. Practice times:

• Little Waves 4 - 4:30 pm 
• 5/6 yo 4 - 4:30 pm 
• 7/8 yo 4:40 - 5:25 pm 
• 9/10 yo 4:40 - 5:25 pm 
• 11 & up 5:30 - 6:15 pm

We recommend that swimmers practice with their age group, however if you have children in adjacent age groups, a sibling may move up or down so they may practice together (if the child's skills who is moving to another age group is similar to the skills of that group). 

NEW PARENT MEETINGS 
Tuesday, May 15th at 4 pm and at 5:15 pm for parents new to the team. We will cover basic information about the team and swim meets. If you cannot make one of the meetings, you can find all the info on the website or email us at [email protected]

CHATSWORTH PLAYGROUND
Swimmers are welcome to play at the Chatsworth playground before/after practices, but since it is near the parking lot, please remind them to be cautious and supervise them at all times. 

PARKING AT CHATSWORTH 
Please park in the parking lot adjacent to the Chatsworth pool. If the parking lot is full, please park on the RIGHT SIDE ONLY of the main street (Derwent Drive) of the neighborhood, but not near the entrance to the subdivision. 

PRACTICE MEET – PLEASE RSVP Thursday, May 24 from 9:30 to 11:30 am (after Little Waves’ practice). 
This practice meet is for all competing swimmers to practice starts, record their times, and for the parents to understand meet volunteer jobs. RSVP on the website to let us know if you are attending: https://chatsworthwaves.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

SWIM MEETS – PLEASE RSVP: Our team is in the Gold (top) division of the North region of Cobb County. We will compete in 5 meets on Wednesday nights in May/June. You can start letting us know if you are available or not on those days. The RSVP option is now open on the website https://chatsworthwaves.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

USA SWIMMER STATUS: Registered USA Swimmers in the current calendar year with a current USA number will be considered a USA Swimmer or year-round swimmer for the purposes of the current summer swim season, regardless of the USA swimmer’s level of participation on any USA Swimming sanctioned team. This definition includes home-school swim programs run by USA teams or lesson driven programs.
